Abstract
This study was conducted to find out the effect of maturity, storage condition and growth regulators treatment on seed germination and longevity of Gentiana scabra Bunge var. buergeri Max. The seeds sown immediately after harvest germinated well, which suggests there is no or little dormancy of the seeds. Matured seeds showed higher germinability than those of immatured. As the storage period was longer, immatured seeds showed shorter longevity than those of matured. The average longevity was about 190 days. Seed longevity was increased when seeds stored at 5¡É for 190 days, and also, germination percentage was, respectively higher by 21% and 40% than those at room temperature and room temperature desiccator during the same period. Treatment of GA©ý enhanced the germinability regardless of concentration. The highest germination concentration was observed at 250 §·¡¤L^(-1).
